Summer Workouts

May 21, 2020 by Cecil Ray Cossey

Hamburg Lion Football Family,

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announced earlier today that contact sports, such as football, may resume strength and conditioning activities on June 1.

Group practices and competitions are prohibited until at least July 1.

Schools have been given the green light to start lifting weights and running on June 1 as long as proper social distancing and disinfecting practices are followed.

The NUMBER ONE PRIORITY for Hamburg Lion Football and the Hamburg School District will remain the SAFETY OF OUR PLAYERS AND COACHES.

Also, uncertain times like these require more flexibility out of all of us. We assure you that Hamburg Lion Football will offer more flexibility on weights and conditioning than ever.

Now that we have a return date, we will be working diligently over the next few days to build a detailed game plan that will allow us to return for weights and conditioning in a SAFE manner.

As we receive more details and as we finalize our detailed game plan, we will pass that information on to you.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me at 501-318-3445 or cecil.cossey@hsdlions.org.

We understand and respect the many different viewpoints concerning our return. I cannot promise that we will have all the answers. But, as a father of a high-risk daughter with severe respiratory issues, I can promise that we will take ALL POSSIBLE PRECAUTIONS to help ensure our return will be as safe as physically possible.

Go Lions!!!
